PUK
Welcome Lewis, where abouts in Essex are you? Could pickup a nice second hand Miroku/Browning within that budget. I'd reccommend keeping an eye on the forum classifieds and on Gunstar, some bargains do pop up.

Uncle Albert
Hiya Lewis from another Essex guy. Welcome to the forum. Try Essex Gun at Romford or The Fennes at Braintree. The Fennes is a clay ground which is open during the week. Essex gun at the Fennes will let you try before you buy. If you see something on the Essex Gun web site at Romford they will get it down to the Fennes for you to try. It's important you get the fit right. Far more important than looks but you should be able to get something good within your budget. Tracy, Sarah or Kevin, at the Fennes, will teach you how to shoot and they are good. Very friendly place and they will give you advice. There are a number of clay clubs in the area. Look at the CPSA web site to find one. There are ones at Southend, Rochford, Thurock which shoot at the weekend. The Lawns, in Rochford, shoots on Wednesday and Saturday. I would suggest you practise on clays before you try live prey. They are more predictable and it's important to get it right before you go on to live prey. Welcome to the sport and most of all enjoy yourself. :w00t:
