new to the flock
What a very lovely pack of Mink Hounds NTTF
Cranfield
nttf, them be proper otterhounds, admittedly now used to hunt mink. LB, in 4 weeks time we collect the middle one in the back row, the only bitch in the litter. These dogs are rarer than hen's teeth. Its taken me months and months to persuade my new friend to sell me a pup.
new to the flock
Cranners, I honestly thought when I first saw those pics that it was the start of a meet Hence the Mink hound comment. I have always loved the Old Fashion Otter Hound, they have a lovely temperment and willingness to please. I am sure you will be very happy with the new Lady when she arrives. Any chance that you are having a litter of these in the future? NTTF
Cranfield
We haven't planned on her having a litter in the future, for various reasons, but one of them is the problems Otterhounds have in reproducing. They have fertility problems, sometimes don't carry a litter full term and have small litters (you will notice there are only four pups in this litter), these have always been problems with the breed. Its taken me almost a year to locate a litter and persuade the Breeder to sell me a pup. He only breeds to replace his retiring working hounds and to supply pups to other Breeders in the UK (only 4 of them) and overseas to keep the blood lines clean. The other UK Breeders only keep a few hounds for showing purposes and keep the puppies amongst themselves. One I spoke to claimed that only one litter of Otterhounds is born in the UK every three years. We are really looking forward to our new arrival.
