storme37
hi deactivated shot guns seem to cost more than live shotguns anyone ever had a shotgun deactivated?
Chris Bb
Yes, local gunshop charged £95 to do it including certification. Apparently you can do it youself but can't sell the gun on without the Proof House certificate.

Scully
If it's deactivated, you simply hang it on the wall as far as I know.Security conditions don't apply,as with antiques.
guinty1
Link to the latest specs http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/publications/police/firearms/deactivation-of-firearms-2010?view=Binary If deactivated to these specs it is no longer a firearm as defined in the 68 act. HDAV
No issue once de act it's no different to a vase ( well unlikely to hold water) obseletes are the same I went to a little pub once and the walls were covered in guns, brens, muskets all sorts just screwed to the wall! Decays have a wider market ( anyone can. Buy them) and are sold as antiques rather than the junk they often would be
