its more cartridges shot than years but the Berettas used for shooting doves get rebuilt after 100,000 shells and some gun schools have shotguns that have done 500,000 shells, there are plenty of guns well over 100 years old still in regular use and these were made with much lower grade steel and modern CNC machining.... a service isnt a bad idea if it hasnt had one in the last 5 years. That said if it works fine might as well keep going until a spring or similar goes and needs stripping down anyway
