DaveyTed
When buying cartridges last week my shooting partner noticed his certificate expires early in November. I understood Essex Police sent out reminders 3 months before but he said he had received nothing. He phoned up and was told they haven't started on Novembers yet - whatever that means. Anyone had any recent experience with renewals in Essex? Thanks in advance.
OddJob
A friend has had a very slow response for his first ever application. I think that they are quite understaffed by their own admission at the moment. I'd get it done ASAP personally.
essexfluke
Did mine earlier this year I to called them as I was worried. No problems though as was told they would send me forms and to fill in and keep until they did their visit and they would take away with them. I was sent renewal form about 5 weeks before renewal was checked a week later and received new certificate on the day of expiry.
Fatcatsplat
As above, mine renewed this year in the nick of time, but absolutely no bother at all - Give your Firearms officer a call (Might be John Hopes) and he can get the ball rolling for you
