rimmie
Hi all, Iv just moved to westgate-on-sea Kent from Essex, I have found a couple of clay shoots as obviously I don t want to be going all the way back to Essex to shoot so I'm looking for some locals to shoot with and show me different clay grounds. I no this is a bit cheeky but I don't no anyone round here, Iv been shooting since I was 15 (I'm 25 now) I'm safe and not a big talking ******** to put it bluntly. Any help would be great. Canis
Greenfields in Canterbury is your nearest commercial ground. Nice ground if hilly ! Really good facilities but Its allways seeemed a bit impersonal there though the couple of times ive been. For sunday morning shoots Martin Gorse Wood between Deal and Dover puts on 100 sporting every other sunday and gets usally about 70 people there. Deal and Sandwich Shooting School in North Deal on the alternate sunday offers 100 Sporting, Skeet, and DTL but consider 20 people to be a busy sunday morning. Its Deal and Sandwich shooting school this weekend, martin gorse wood next weekend. ? Both are friendly clubs ! Theres a couple of other sunday shoots in the dover area but frankly they clash with either of the above so I've never got there !
louis682
Yer greenfields is good and has started to do registered shoots once a month. Other than that there's no other sporting grounds in Kent that I know of that do registered shoots. You have kingsferry for skeet and dartford also. If you're not into registered shooting then there's abbey shooting ground which is at the back of Kent county showground in detling and west Kent shooting ground. If you want to meet up one day give me a post message mate. We often have to drive out of Kent to do registered shooting....

Hamster
There's a clay shoot in Sandwich I believe but I haven't shot there in 20 years, other than that you'd have to drive past Greenfields to get to any other grounds and none will come close in facilities and few will match it for target quality even outside the county. I'm there this Sunday, PM me if you want to shoot a round together, I may hop somewhere else afterwards depending on wife's shopping plans. denniswebb
I went to sandwich last saturday, what a lovely old town, had lunch there before moving down the coast looking at apartments, Herne Bay was in the mix but it looks as if we will be going back to Soverigh Harbour , Eastbourne, move away from Essex and the licencing problems. Sandbank
Also favour Greeenfields, registered shoots as mentioned, also now doing 100 bird comps. every Sunday. Being retired with time on my hands I also take advantage of the mid week practice sessions. Open 6 days (closed Monday) trying to limit myself to 3 times a week though!! Close on 100 acres so a very good variety of stands. From my experience you will find a welcoming crowd over there.

Sandbank
i like green fields where the shoot in sandwich i live near there Hi mate, have a look here http://www.kentclays...o.uk/index.html Run by Barry Gibb, really nice guy who first got me into shooting. I don't tend to go there often as: 1) They shoot 'roughly' once a fortnight, can be difficult to confirm dates. 2) Stung for a hefty Sandwich Bay toll if coming from that end, only option is go through back of Deal and make your way down the suspension wrecking 'ancient highway'. Hopefully weather will be kinder this coming week and we can catch up at Greenfields Wednesday or Thursday. All the best Edited September 29, 2012 by Sandbank
