GingerCat
Hi all. Just thought I'd tell you about my new toy. Wanting to rid a few pesky pigeons from where I can't use the shotgun, I thought I'd pop into a gunshop near my in laws. Not wanting to spend much so settled for a hatsan striker in 22 with 3-9x40 scope with bag and pellets for _£150. Pleasantly surprised. It's not my old hw77 or 99s by any means however it is full power and produces 1 inch groups at 35 yards from standing so the years of plinking have paid off and the gun can't be half bad either . Bit twangy but he ho that may settle down in time. Rugged build but comfortable and not worried about being.to careful cleaning etc. So far so good. Capital Bee
A complete outfit for £150, that's not bad. Hope you have some success with it.
GingerCat
So do I. Limited use round a few barns and maybe the odd early morning for squigs. From the groupings so far it will be just fine. Reminds me of my misspent youth.......
NIGHT SEARCHER
I have had a Striker 1000 for over 12 months in .25 cal i shoot a lot of Rats usually with PCPs with night vision out to 40 50 yds. But for close range work in barns ext the Hatsan with a lamp on it works great. I find it very accurate and being .25 cal it hits like a sledge hammer and the pop and thud on impact is brill. I have a Hatsan AT 44 w with the wood stock and that has been excellent value for money it comes with two 10 shot mags air gauge and a walther match barrel and it will match my Daystate shot for shot out to 60 yds. I put a 3x9x50 scope and a silencer on my Striker all for £170 all in. There`s not a lot out there that you can buy scope and silencer for £170 and its accurate with lots of power. In fact out of the box it is doing a lot with 20 grain pellets. And 11.8 ftlb with 27 grain pellets. So i am only using the 27 grain pellets i am hoping the power comes down a bit with time. GingerCat
Out of interest how did u fit a silencer to the striker? Do you take the foresight assembly off and if so did it just pull off? Didn't think of it when I bought it but woukdnt mind one.
timmytree
Nightsearcher, It might be wise to edit your post mentioning 13.6 ft lbs achievable with your striker, that is well over the legal limit unless you've got it on FAC. This forum is open to the public and no doubt followed by the relevant authorities so a reduction in power might be a good idea as well. Regards Tim. jamiedenny
good advice tim, search for threads but in short your rifle can be tested with any pellet not the one you use. Stay legal and keep shooting - don't and its you wont like the eventual outcome. The At44 sound great though, heard some really good things about it, maybe its time to "invest" :-). NIGHT SEARCHER
I might try putting some thicker lube on the piston and spring now its out of warrantee i should have sent it back to Edger bros they would have sorted it for free. Copper slip grease will bring it down a touch I don`t want to take any off the spring has its only a little iffy with the very light 20 grain .25 cal pellets its fine with most .25 cal pellets and there`s not many out there. And with the .25 cal you need the power to be close to the 12 ftlb limit has a 27 grain pellet starts to drop badly beyond 25 yds. Has for the Silencer I tried heating the end up but it is bonded on so I used a dremel with a disc cutter and cut the plastic shroud and front sight back. I used a depth gauge in the silencer if I remember rightly it was 30mm to the stop ridge so I cut the plastic shroud back 30 mm. So the silencer butts right up to the plastic shroud and it looks great I took the rear sight off as well as it will stay scoped. I have10 rifles 3 springers and 7 PCPs. 3 x .177 6 x .22 1 x .25 cal And nothing hits like the .25 cal its Deverstateing on Rats.
