A123
Has anyone else noticed a massive increase in the amount of greys about lately? I'm sure there's much more than previous years. In South Wales anyway. Anywhere else noticed the same? Any idea why there's been such a boom? I'm guessing something to do with the weather conditions this year, but given the summer we've had I'd have thought it would have counted against them! steve_b_wales
There's a hell of a lot more dead ones on the roads, so that's good news. I think with the mild (?) weather, they've been very busy breeding.
Catweazle
Even my wife commented on the amount of dead squirrels alongside the M4, and she's not normally one to notice that sort of thing.

A123
Just found this comment on a similar topic on another forum: This coincides with post breeding dispersal as well as a shift in foraging activity and also due to the population being at its peak prior to winter. Yep. They will be out foraging this time of year. Also, you have the annual dispersal of young squirrels.

deputy dog
Loaded around my area as well, been plenty splattered on the roads around the borough. Must have had a few litters this year due to the mild weather we'v had. Cant wait for the tree's to shed their leaves. Be a bonaza of bushy tails to get to grips with in the woodlands around my permissions with a few early morning forays with the rimmy. Hopefully be a few more to add to the squizzer tally on here DD
