Big Marty
Hi folks bought a Browning Gold S/A couple of weeks ago but its messing about a bit..When you fire 1st shell she's sticking after ejecting and and not allowing the slide to come forward again,,which means you can only put off 1 shot..Any ideas as to what's happening... tweedledee
silly question mate but have you gave it a good clean? also have you tried different makes of cartridge? pretty bombproof guns, if not sorted take it back and get it changed to somethin that works...... are you sayin the shell is sticking out which is nt allowing the slide to close or the fact that the bolt is locking back as if there is nt another shell available? tweedledee
if shell out and bolt not coming forward it makes me think the gun does nt see the next shell and is hold ing itself open. does it go forward when you push the bolt release button? BerettaSV10
Have cleaned it within an inch of its life lol,Naw shell coming out ok but bolt not coming back.. What cartridges are you using, as you might need a punchier cartridge, had a simular problem on my s/a (not a browning) as was using to soft a recoil cartrdge changed cartridges and it now cycles perfecily. If already using a suitable cartridge, well worth taking the gun back to see if any thing is wrong with it.
fenboy
Simple solution is sell it and buy a beretta LOL. Other than that if the bolt is not coming back there is a chance the recoil spring has weakened or broken so might be worth replacing that. tweedledee
if locked fully back, the button should really allow it to drive forward. it should be under spring tension in the rearward position. have you pulled the bolt out of the action and dropped out the trigger mechanism to see if anything is out of place? are you using the magazine cut off by any chance.?? BerettaSV10
Think I would be taking it back as youve used a range of cartridges, for them either to fix or trade in for a different gun asap. Edit Just a thought is the gold a 3 1/2 chamber gun and the cartridge/s to short for it to cycle properly, although not a browning the 3 1/2 escort has some thing in the handbook about it has to have a minimum type of cartridge for it to cycle correctly. If you don't have tha handbook you can try this site as they have quite a few handbooks for downloading. http://stevespages.com/page7b.htm Edited October 3, 2012 by BerettaSV10

P~MX
give it a really good clean and spray it lightly with Hoppe's Dry Lube !! or if you can get it use Froglube on all of your gun and it'll never have preformed as well - froglube will make it silky smooth ! Yorkshire Wildfowler
It used to eject first shot second shot used to jam. Also if it put the second cartridge into the chamber the action would not go forward, used to carry can of oil with me but as I said in last post ditched it and go a far superior gun. After that experience will not entertain any Browning products and as for Browning/Winchester back up services there is none. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
