secretagentmole
Got a Sirocco, an early one, bid on it in an auction and won, so now I have a beautiful Theoben! Now it was exceptionally easy to move through the cocking action, meaning the ram has lost pressure, so hopefully, just a pump or 25 and it will be working at full power (11.3 foot lbs using my preferred pellet).... FalconFN
Lovely rifle and a very good price. Had a look at the sale prices - some good prices and some unsold bargains to be had if you live nearby. There is a Cometa Fenix 400 that didn't sell on the day so it's going fo £50! with commission that's only £61. If I lived nearby or the postage wasn't £30 I'd have had that as a decent plinker. The thing is they will not post to you, you have to rely on somebody local to the sale room collecting it, then using a service like Parcel Monkey to arrange colelction from them and delivery to you, it can be done, we do it for a user on THL, he pays us for our time and trouble, thing is it does work out about £30 per parcel! I phoned them and they will send to a RFD for £28, worth it for a more expensive gun but not really a £50 springer.
secretagentmole
Do not forget you then have to pay the RFD charges for receiving the parcel, once again about £28! We collect and ship to one member on Hunting Life, we can offer the same service to others, but we have to burn half a gallon of diesel to get there and back, before wrapping and sending! secretagentmole
Piccies??? I know the end cap is missing, I have it, it is just whilst pressure is being sorted out it is not there, I know her bluing is thin/non existent on the barrel, but that is part of her age and beauty! secretagentmole
Now stabilised at 11.23 foot pound energy! Yes she was a bargain, but other people had a chance to outbid, I am lucky, I can get my behind into the auction house and see what is wrong before I bid.... Capital Bee
I think that's the key with auctions. Get there and actually look at the item. I was interested in a MK1 airsporter at a recent auction. Listed with no picture, I went to the auction room and found an air rifle that had been used as a door stop in someones coal house for the last 30 years, stock in three pieces and rusty from head to toe (with some luminous paint added to the front sight!). I didn't bid, and it went for £20, which was about what it was worth...
secretagentmole
Actually mosyt lots at Holts have reasonable photos, but unless you can get there and cock the rifle you wont know if it is the cocking link, the gas ram, whatever....
