Paul T
Brother-in-Law tipped Killer_Pigeon and I off that he'd cultivated a field on the farm and there were quite a few pigeons out on it. It was short notice (last night) but we were both free, so what the hell, I'm off down to sunny Leicestershire like a shot. I got there at 8.30 and heard K_P rattle off a couple of shots. Jeez, I'd better get my skates on and get down there quick. I loaded myself up and had a brisk but muddy walk down to the brood and the tree line. K_P had 2 birds in the bag already! I tagged my net onto the end of K_Ps and turned it right angles back to the hedge line to box us in nicely. It wasn't long before birds started appearing and dropping nicely into the pattern. The main problem for the first few hours was facing directly into the sun. Consequently we just 'lost' some easy birds as we were temporarily blinded by the morning sunshine. As the sun moved round we got back on form and dropped some cracking birds. Unfortunately, the inpenetrable brambles behind us claimed a larger portion of the bag than we would like, but we retrieved those we could. The day ended with a respectable 62 on the clicker with 49 picked. Guns in the shot are Killer_Pigeon's Benelli M2 and my Beretta Urika 1.
