Jimmer
I've heard reports that pheasants can't get enough of this. Does anyone else have any experience using it? Want to keep the birds in the plots as long as possible before they go walkabout for the ret of the day. Any help much appreciated.

jntree
i use it over staw rides mixed up with wheat and wild seed mix holds there attention for hours, also try flaked maize as they cant just pick it up the have to peck and scratch at it to break it up it the right areas can be very effective
Flashgun
only use it mixed with wheat because if you give them too much they will put on a lot of fat and dont fly so well.
markyboy
Yeh they love the stuff particularly in the colder snaps mixed with a bit of bird puller has worked for me ! Only ever mixed it with wheat though as man above says it puts on to much fat !

Scully
On the farm where our rough shoot is,the landowner (he's in our shoot)supplies us with small quantities(when his Dad isn't looking!) of rolled maize and rolled oats, and it does go down well. All the chaff from it is thrown into the pond margins. Farmerstack
I've used maize in the past only problem we use to get is if it went in drums, with spring feeders on the bottom, any larger pieces sometime caused them to block up so it needed regular checking. The birds loved it, especially come the end of the season and you still want them in your woods!
Jimmer
Bought some yesterday from a country retailer for £13 for 25 kg. thought that was quite steep. They called it cut maize.
