Ant8681
I have been on 98 squirrels for about a week now and had no chance of getting out until this weekend, Thursday night though I got ill, not nice, so I thought that there would be no chance of me getting out to bag my century, but this morning I felt a lot better so headed out just before 8 to see what was about. No sooner had I got out of the car in the car park a squirrel bounced across the gravel 30 yards in front of me, I didn't even have the gun out of the slip! I ducked back into the car, un-sleeved the gun then took aim on the roof of the car, the squirrel was now sat on a stump having his breakfast so I took aim and sent an RSW his way, shortly after my dog Ki was bringing me squirrel 99. I moved on into the woods, saw a few but none presented a good shot as I was trying to capture the action on video, in the end it got too frustrating and I gave up with that idea and went and sat in a favoured spot and waited. A good half hour later a squirrel made its way across the woodland floor, I watched it as it made its way towards us then up a tree about 20 yards away, as soon as it stopped I took the shot, it was perfect the squirrel didnt even twitch and fell stone dead on the floor where Ki was already waiting to retrieve it for me. I was very pleased with myself, its just a shame there was a bit of miscomunication and "Click" wasnt there to be a part of it!! Now for 200 I guess!! http://i1171.photobu.../DSC_0012-1.jpg
FOXHUNTER1
Well done Ant. I have just counted up my tally for 2012 and I've shot 108. I haven't even looked on a farm where I shoot quite a few as need the leaves off the trees but wont be long. Squirrel shooting for me is one of the most exciting and challenging sports , I rate it up there with foxing !!! Its also very addictive. It would be nice to reach the 200 , lets see how close we can get.
Reece
My total is 88. I think. Might be out by one or two, but I can't check traps because it's getting darker earlier. Looks like you two have beaten me this year! Then again, I had stopped catching, so I have done a good job. Keep up the good work, and maybe you will get 200.
