Skeet cartridges

Recommended Posts

I use Hull CompX 21gram in 9s for Olympic Skeet (even in competition); they have never missed, unlike the guy who loads them.

They let you shoot the second bird very quickly and don't knock the **** out of you if you shoot a lot of targets.

A few of the better shots are using these for practice and then switching to 24g for the 'main event'

They cost around £145 a 1000.

Once you get used to these, you will not go back.

9's or 9-5's will give better breaks. Personally I use 24 grams for just about everything these days and mostly in a fibre wad. The advantages of a lighter load and less recoil far outweigh the lower pellet count. If they can shoot OT with a 24 gram load then most things are possible.

As with any choke, pellet size or load weight thread, the main thing to remember is none of it matters if you are putting it in the wrong place.
