super sharp shooter
I have found a John macnab 32" barrell 3.5" chambered shot gun in vgc vgc for sale in my village and the guy wants to sell it to me but not sure of its value. Does the PW massive have an idea of its value Thanks SSS
RAMMER BURT
hi fella what model mcnab is it ?
super sharp shooter
That's a good question I'm not sure until I go and see it tomorrow. I'm sure macnab didn't make that many 3.5 " but can't find any info on them.
RAMMER BURT
my local gun shop has got a secondhand mcnab highlander for £1150 in VGC
super sharp shooter
Had a look on gun trader and there are 4 on there from £600-£1200 so I'm thinking towards the top end of that.
Big Al
Im almost certain that the 3.5 inch mcnab was the Lowlander - and it was cheaper than the Highlander. Edited November 14, 2012 by Big Al
mr salt
i think the highlander had side plates the lowlander did not. they both had prince of wales pistol grip and a wooden butt plate/pad. most were case hardened finish. Nice well balanced gun,but i cant recall there being a 3.5inch model.

I remember I looked into it as a wildfowling gun after I read a review by Mark Cockayne in BASC magazine. I couldnt find one to try so I ended up not bothering. super sharp shooter
Defo a 3.5" model I've shot it when the guy took me on my first duck shoot but I didn't think it would come up for sale but it has. I'm going to have a look at it tomorrow but didn't want to insult him with a low price or get my pants pulled down and paying too much. super sharp shooter
Yeah I'm looking forward to having it in the cabinet. There doesn't seem to be many 3.5" o/u that come up for sale and there only seems to be Browning that make one but in camo.
Big Al
Dont forget to book an appointment with the dentist if you get it. Id say 3.5 inch shells in an o/u will kick some!
super sharp shooter
I would think so. They kick some in my pump action.
super sharp shooter
Picked up the mcnab this morning and I must say is is in as new condition so it's now part of my gun collection. I paid £675 for it so quite happy with that.

Lord Geordie
The side plate Highlander is identical to the Rizzini E but obviously better finished. I was looking for parts.for.my.Rizzini and was forwarded to the Mc Nab for my spares. Bit of a price difference
JJsDad
You probably have to buy them one at a time due to the cost !!!
