il cacciatore
But arent SPAS 12s illegal with the folding stock and shortish barrel? I think I saw one time a SPAS though it has a convensional black stock and foreend.

I think I saw one time a SPAS though it has a convensional black stock and foreend. I know both my wifes uncles have an attachable synthetic Stock, which gets over the question as to whether or not they are illegal, this is also helped by the fact that they have barrel extensions of about 2.5 inches to the end done by a gun smith. Stock extensions came as standard, with the folding stock being on the Police Force Models. You can buy Spaz's from Italy, but they come as standard 8 shot and need to be regulated for normal shotgun Cert. Very enjoyable gun to handle, and oh so little recoil as to be unbelivable. rarms
>But arent SPAS 12s illegal with the folding stock and shortish barrel Yes they fall foul of being too short with a folding stock or a sub 24" barrel
il cacciatore
I've seen them in Italy. One of my dads friends has one for home protection (which is legal there). It has a 16" barrel and a 10 shot magazine. It has the synthetic stock. Quite nice looking guns.
rarms
IC, you got any pics? Would be interested to see how that works as most I have seen have like a 20" barrel and 8 capacity Can't work out how that would work as 10 x 2&3/4 is 27 inches! Must be one hell of a mag extension tube!
il cacciatore
Sorry, I must be wrong then. Ill try and have a look at it again the next time I'm over. Maybe it must be 8 shot mag and 22" barrel or something similar? Does anyone import these SPAS12s converted to UK regs (with 24" barrel and synthetic stock with either 2+1 (shotgun) or 8+1 (FAC) mags) How much are they? Just interested. Semi's and pumps need to satisfy an overall length of 40" as well as a barrel length of 24" or it is Sec5 NOT Sec1 on an FAC. You CANNOT have a pump with a barrel less than 24" and a over all length of less than 40" it is prohibited!! <EDIT> Lifted from 'Firearms Law 2002' ----------------------------- Chapter 3 PROHIBITED WEAPONS AND AMMUNITION Definitions 3.2 Section 5 of the 1968 Act, as modified by the Transfer of Functions (Prohibited Weapons) Order 1968 and amended by the 1988 Act, the 1992 Regulations and the 1997 Acts makes it unlawful to manufacture, sell, transfer, purchase, acquire or possess, without the authority of the Secretary of State, any prohibited weapon or ammunition. Those weapons and ammunition which are prohibited consist of: iv) any self-loading or pump-action smoothbore gun which is not an air weapon or chambered for .22 rimfire cartridges and either has a barrel less than 24 inches in length or (excluding any detachable, folding, retractable or other moveable butt-stock) is less than 40 inches in length overall (section 5(1)(ac)); ------------------------------------- (Obviously I have added the bold parts to bring relevance to the topic) </EDIT>

Oops I lied, went shooting with my wifes uncle on Sunday and in fact it has a 4 inch extension to the muzzle, and he explained that the crook on the folding stock pictured, meant you could actually wrap your arm in it and fire one in each arm, he has tried this and although uncomfortable, easily managed although not recommended for long periods.
