sixhills 69
Hi Guys i am putting my ESS to stud at the end of this month, i was wondering it takes about 4 weeks before i will be able to get her tested. So i was wondering will i be able to take her shooting over that month maybe a day or two on the pigeons and some rabbit retreveing would this be ok or does she need to be kept at home resting. also whilst she is pregnat has anyone got any recomendations as to food. My last litter was around 10 years ago nad i think i have forgoten a few things im sure the will come back with a look on the internet but Roxy is the first ESS i will be breeding I would be ggreatful for any advice as i do not want her getting stressed and absorbing the pups. Thanks Sixhills
Actionpigeons
I work all of my bitches when they are in pup normally for the first 4 weeks, after that it depends on the dog. My lab was still coming pigeon shooting with me up to a few days before she whelped, but that's labs. ESS are a bit different a lot will depends on how hard going your dog is. Rimfireboy
Don't work her too hard. Just get her to do the pots and a bit of dusting.
sixhills 69
Thanks guys i will not be putting her on a shoot just wondered if she would still be out with me retrieving a few pigeons rabbits ect nothing to testing or stessful im so looking forward to her first litter i would not want her damaging any thing but on the otherhand i don't want her feeling left-out as soon as she see's a gunslip she's set to go. I will keep things easy and take no chances Cheers
