30-6
Q1 - How do you boys manage when lamping with a parallax adjustable scope? I have just put a 4-16 x 50 Hawke with illuminated reticule and adjustable objective (on an FAC). I have only zeroed at present but hope to go lamping on Friday weather permitting. In the daytime when you have more time to adjust the parallax it should be ok, but how do you get by in the night when you see a rabbit at whatever range and have to fiddle with the scope to get him in focus, when he's in the beam and perhaps a bit jumpy? Q2 - I have been shooting a lot of rats lately with the s200 using RWS super H point, but I find loading the pellet the last fraction into the barrel very tight, ( skirt seems very hard and possibly slightly large). Do they do this pellet in various sizes, or what is another good flat head to suit the s200? Cheers in advance.

Set it at 25yds an leave it......................if its blurred then adjust your aim point accordingly. as for no2, dont know.......dont use the s200...... pin
Q2, nope but they vary by enough (all do to an extent) that some will fit better than others. Find something that fits snug and use that. AirArms hunter pellets are a great choice
P03
Q.2 Not sure about the S200, but I do know that .22 barrels manufactered in Germany are bored to 5.55mm whereas those manufactured in the uk are 5.56mm that 0.01mm can make a lot of difference when it comes to pellet fit. Try different pellets until you get a tight fit that you don't have to force into the barrel as this will damage the pellet. Too tight a pellet also increases the fouling in a barrel which will affect consistency.
Axe
I find that parallax is a royal pain in the wotsits at night, especially when you have a larger range as you do with FAC. When i'm running my .22LR at night I set the parallax at 50 yards and try to contain my shots around the 40-60yard zone. So you should be able to do the same. Next scope I buy will almost definitely be parallax non-adjustable. But for now I try to scan the area more so I don't get too close. But if one does come out close in its normally (whilst being fuzzy) big enough in the sight to take an educated shot.
Theskyfox
I didn't know that about the parallax adjustable scopes lol. I was tempted to swap my Simmons AETEC at one point for one where I could adjust the parallax...but for hunting it seems like that would make it more fiddly and a pain in the backside . I shall be sticking with my Aetec! lol. -Andrew
SNAKEBITE
Set it at 25yds an leave it......................if its blurred then adjust your aim point accordingly. On an FAC rifle I'd give it a little more than that!
the pelt man
Like Braille, Place a strip of tape tight around the lens with lenghts of match sticks the width of the tape at ten yard focal points with 2 bits of match side by side at 30 yard focal point. You can then in the dark feel like braille even with thin gloves on what the scope focal range is set at. Just remove the tape when shooting during the day. Hope you can understand what i am on about. With my whitetail cassic scope i had a printer friend make a clear tape strip with marks on at 5 yard focal ranges with the hold over/under distance printed on, so i focus at the same time seeing where to place the shot. To get the focal marks i placed a strip of card around the lens & marked the card at the right focal places for 5<70 yards (FAC RIFLE) 50 yard Zero. I then gave the card to my mate & he made the tape the same as the card i then stuck this to the rifle. Works a treat. If you want i picture i will post in sporting pictures. SNAKEBITE
Peltman, you should have the user name "Heath Robinson"! Sounds like a good idea though.
Axe
Sounds like a pretty good idea to me. I'm hoping to be able to get some flourescent paint to do the job.

SNAKEBITE If you don't feel safe using scissors to cut the tape you could substitute the tape with a wide rubber band :o PLTMAN
