Wildfowler12
I had an LPG conversion last week, and I'm trying to change the vehicle tax class at the minute. Apparently I have to go to my 'local' tax office, which is a 60mile round trip, so not local at all! But they need me to hand over my tax disc to exchange it, which means I'll have to park up somewhere in Manchester WITHOUT a disc in the windscreen. The other option is to post the forms/docs/disc off to them, and then I'm without a disc for 3 weeks whilst they process it!! What a faff! Either way, I'll have to commit an offence by not displaying a tax disc in my car!! Rant over...
ozzy518
I thought that cars parked in Manchester without a tax disc was the norm.

four-wheel-drive
I would be tempted to leave it until your tax runs out and do it then you probably would not get much money back anyway. My 2001 - 4ltr Jeep running lpg/petrol is about £215 a year and if I was to go up to London god knows why I would want to do that I would not have to pay the congestion charge apparently. Wildfowler12
I'm going to get someone to drop me off, I've just found out that it saves a whole £10 per year in tax!! I'll get a pro rata'd refund which will work out less than the petrol for driving there! Haha
