    XC60

I changed job a few months ago so got a new car! XC60 mileage stayed were it was, no significant improvements at 6000 miles
  4. A suggestion; don't include anything that people could judge you by. In some areas you need to be the grey man. (In others you need to stand out) The first paragraph tells me your age, race and sporting pursuits, all of which can be used to judge you, rightly, wrongly, good or bad. You have also capitalised your character traits with the exception of 'keen eye for detail'. Your CV is your sales pitch, so talk about all the good points. Review the job specification or advert you are applying for and try to match up yours skills. As an example if the advert requires someone who can work to deadlines, make a point of station g this in one of your previous roles (as long as it's true). There are loads of good templates for CV's online and what you have written already is really good stuff, but in my opinion needs a bit of tweaking and structure. All the best and good luck
  5. From what I understand, I would steer clear of CSA/CMS and try to come up with an seperate agreement (could be a binding separation agreement). Use the calculator to work out the amount and pay direct as per separation agreement. If you use CSA/CMS the receiving partner will receive slightly less (fees) and the paying partner will also have to pay fees. The only winner here is the CSA/CMS.
  6. I love skeet and find it hugely addictive, "just one more round"... When I started out (and still do every now and then) I shoot each stand as singles. All the high birds 1-8 then all the low birds from stand 8 back to 1. I found this a great way to start building muscle memory and sight pictures. Was also told to point your belt buckle at the low house on every stand which will sort feet position. Never hit a bird on stand 8 though

Yep, for start/stop, but the type of driving you mentioned, don't expect good fuel returns. The one thing I dislike about the car is the lack of an auto park brake! It's a pain as the handbrake button is on the right hand side below the dashboard. And for some weird reason you push it too put it on and pull to release. It's a small thing, but makes hill starts and pulling away from junctions a bit of a 'hand jive'. Boot space is good and huge when read seats are folded down

I have a 2014 in D4 2WD flavour. Love it as a daily driver and loads of poke (manual gearbox). MPG is not quite as claimed and obviously don't go anywhere near dirt in it. I did 250 miles today on all kinds of road and averaged 44mpg. Motorway all day see's low 50's and town driving is in the mid 30's. Vehicle only done 4000mls so may get a bit better when it's run in.
  11. Hi, Would you consider £100 as reasonable? Can collect tomorrow. Tks
  12. As above, get it back together and get it tested with nitrogen (it's illegal to knowingly release refrigerant gas into the atmosphere). Any repairer / fast fit should test before carrying out a re-gas so you could get away with an FOC check
  13. I might have read to much into it, but negotiate/walk out your notice = you keep guns & employee gets shot of disengaged employee
  14. What happened? Assume guns have been transferred to other SGC holders tickets, so irrelevant of your cabinet arrangements.

    camo car

Not sure, I've never seen one on the road
  16. Whatever chokes you use, be quick. You have 3 days left for pheasant
  17. I've done a few and it all depends on your budget. Thoroughly enjoyed the following: Everyman Racing - Ferrari 360, DB9, Gallardo, 997 C4S. Instructors were very good and if you knew what you were doing after a lap, they encouraged you to give it some. Half day around £300 Silverstone Challenge - Drove everything they had at the time. 997 Turbo, 360, Exige on the GP circuit. pug 206 Tarmac rally car, Fiesta ST dirt rally car, single sweater, quads, defenders. Awesome day. Full day around £700 Formula Ford experience - sighting laps in Mini Cooper, then timed laps in F Ford. Great experience. Around £100. Have heard great things about Palmer day at Bedford. Maybe this year
  18. Only one set of test criteria irrelevant of tyre type. Manufacturers are also free to test their own tyres !!! The label is a very small insight into tyre performance. It's very easy to have a pretty useless tyre score very well on label
  19. A good cold weather tyre has deeper tread grooves (when new) that are solely there to evacuate water from beneath the tyre and road surface thus reducing aqua planning. Take a look at the tread pattern on a Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 (Google images) and you will see the increased tread depth and a 'V' shape patterned to increase the amount of water that can be shifted
  20. As above. A summer tyre will also wear faster in the winter as the rubber compound becomes hard. A good compromise if you don't want to switch between summer and winter is an all season tyre which offers reasonable performance all year round. Depending on size you will struggle with availability of winter/cold weather tyres at this time of year though. I checked a few sizes the other day and there were none in the country! Remaining stocks will disappear sharp as soon as the snow comes

    Dry January

I'm doing a 'dryathlon' for cancer research. No booze for January and raise some cash along the way. Good luck to you all
  22. Throws the 1000 cartridge on the floor in disgust!
  23. Or doesn't want a blown diff due to his advice. What Jim says, but general advice is to change all four at the same time and rotate through the life to ensure equal wear.

    Stinky car

Try the screen wash. Some screen wash forms a congealed mess if its not used and it stinks. Hose pipe in the washer bottle and rinse it out if so.
  25. First thing the driving instructor tells you, "wear your seatbelt" 2nd thing, "drive on the left" Simples. Middle lane = fine
