subsonicnat
Hi Again guys, Has Anyone Out there gone into Loading 3.5" cartridges and if so what have you found to be a good load: No I am not idle, I used to load all my own cartridges years ago, and still have the machine to do so: I would probably try for about 1.5oz loads, Loading with No 2 or 3 shot: It takes time to develop a good load which is not punishing but does the job: Made a cracking load years ago with bismuth, Killed a ranges you wouldn`t believe, Stone Dead: Even Geese: Wads, obviously a dominator, and Cases of course. Powder not too punishing either: Me and my mate used to work on LONG Range,, LOW Velocity:::: Big Pellets, SLOW Powder:: Keeps the Pressures down: So if anyone is doing these cartridges, give me an inkling where to start: Good Source of said supplies for a start and not too far away: Kings Lynn:: Thanks in Advance: :
hanky
I load 3.5" 12gauge but low velocity and slow powders was the in thing years ago, now the " in thing " is to load modern fast steel powders that are economical, once you have been converted you will not look back, I have been loading these for last 4 seasons at geese and you would not believe the results, no way would I ever go back to lead loads even if it became legal again after using steel, so if you need to be converted - I can help !!!
