njc110381
I'm happy to cover the cost of a casual shoot for a newbie. I'm always letting people have a shoot with my kit, more often the .338 than anything else and that aint cheap. When it gets to shooting slabs of cartridges I recon they can chip in a bit, but when I started people were kind to me so I like to pass on the favour. Richard V
I don't charge family however I charge others for clays and carts, which is £20 for 50. A work colleague comes very regularly. I've been trying to persuade him to get a SGC but he seems content in paying the £20 and using my gun every time. If you pay for everyone to shoot clays then that's good however I simply cannot afford to, maybe when I become a millionaire
BRNDL
Difficult one for me as I am a tight **** when it comes to spending...family I would prob just charge clays but friends would be the total package if 100 birds or over. I couldn't afford to pay £100 for a few hours shooting.
Paddy Galore!
Ok, so I'm sure many of friends , family , neighbours e.t.c..... Asks can I come shooting with you, so the question is, do you charge them for the clays and cartridges they use, if so how much?? no, but if they persistantly bug me after the first time then yes, they can pay for my clays and carts too, fair's fair etc.
HDAV
Oh ok I see what your on about now about getting the clays yourself but most commercial shooting grounds charge about 20p-30p per clay ( don't quote me on that ) ?If you are taking them to a commercial ground then its up to them to pay the ground, or you to treat them same a s going to any activity I have paid for the first goes for a few after that they pay the ground for clays and carts shot. Most grounds insist on people (who dont hopld SGC) having a lesson with a staff member first.
Livefast123
If I use my own trap or go to a small private ground that I know then I will try and give the taster session as a freebie to try and make the experience as appealing as possible. If going to a commercial ground I inform them before of the cost to avoid any misunderstandings as I can't afford to cover that much. Most family members now offer to pay and hopefully will be getting their SGC's in the new year. When shooting at the target club I am more than willing to let a newbie have a go of shooting the .22, .223 and .44 as when I started shooting there a lot of the members were good to me and let me have a few shots of their guns for free, usually saying "Have a few more or empty the mag!" I think it is always polite to offer to pay for what you shoot especially with the price of some larger rifle rounds / clays & carts these days and then at least the shooter has the choice. Paxtond
My mate who I have been taking shooting has just been granted his SGC, he's just popped round to have a few beers and play some Xbox, Opened the door to find him holding 1000 carts for me as a thankyou for all the times I took him with my equipment. Rely made my day knowing that he is truly grateful
