Hi, going to buy a bell and carlson stock from the US when they have the one I want in stock, roughly a couple of weeks time. Was wondering if anyone has one on a T3 and what they are like eg weight, accuracy. Just want something a little tougher than wood for my 308 as it gets out in some pretty rough weather.

Well this is becoming abit of a lengthy process, at last they have the stocks in now and have sent payment, I will post some pics and info on any other charges ie import tax and VAT when I have the stock in my hands. Already the price has gone up a fifteen quid due to exhange rate,( from when I first worked it out a month ago ).

Thanks for that but I have questioned the suppliers and read loads of reviews on the Bell & Carlson stocks for T3's. The stock comes with full alley bedding and the recoil lug is part of the stock, apparently it just drops in nice and snug, lets hope so.

Well its almost here, latest update from USPS is that the parcel has just been clear by customs in the UK, suppose I'm now awaiting a letter stating import tax and Vat amount before it can be delivered, though you never know I could get lucky and it just arrives soon.

Will the customs declaration of 'spares' make any differance at all, we will soon see. Can't wait to get the thing on the rifle and put afew rnds through it.

At last, a week to get to UK customs from the US,and two weeks to get through customs. Had to pay £17 import vat and £8.00 parcelforce but now its cuddling my Tikka T3 action. Its a real snug fit with no extra work required, the barrel floats nicely right up to the action and the barrel sits dead centre in the channel. The dimensions are pretty much the same as the hunters wooden stock but is slightly longer due to the much better quality recoil pad. The stock is a few onces heavier than the plastic T3 stocks apparently but a few onces lighter than the wooden stock. With the Burris scope it makes for a nice light stalking outfit, hopefully I will one day replace the P8 mod with something lighter. In the morning I will get some photo's ta post up.

I'm thinking of a new t3 stock where did you order it from?

Redhawke rifles ( look em up on the internet) ,very helpful bunch and great communitcation. The stock cost £180 plus the £25 for import vat etc, they are like hens teeth here for Tikkas, the nearest price match available in UK was the howa medalist Bell and carlson stock which was £300.

It feels nice, its web pattern is raised so gives a certain amount of grip, its not 'tacky' like the hogue stocks though. It is a real drop in job but very snug. I only have the wooden stock to compare it with and the dimensions are pretty much the same but the foreend is slightly wider and the stock neck, pistol grip ( whatever its called ) is also slightly wider, which gives it a nice feel. It has a Pachamyr decelerator recoil pad which makes the stock very slightly longer which is good for me, I have not had to alter the scope in regard to eye relief. I love wooden stocks but just wanted something tough on the 308 as it does get some pretty hard work amongst bolders and woodland in the Wye valley. It has the advantage of being about 4oz lighter than the wood as a bonus and its not a hollow stock like I imagine the T3 plastic stock to be, my Remington 700 sps was pants.

Olive green with black web, have a look on Redhawke rifles website, they have various colours to choose from.

Took it out for its first test yesterday and feels really nice, the recoil pad gives it a nice feel and initial results on accuracy are roughly about the same, the rifle was very accurate anyway but any improvement will show up when I do a bit of 200yd stuff.
