Starbuck
I have a 12g miroku shotgun. Brass or nylon split jags - which is best? Have heard that there can be issues with brass jags and tight chokes...... Cheers
station
Only ever used plastic ones so cannot comment on brass.

bedwards1966
I only use a split brass jag and a wire brush. The wire brush removes and loosens the worst, then a piece of kitchen roll or toilet paper folded a couple of times on the jag, a spray of oil and run this through until it comes out fairly clean. They don't go through tight chokes - if it's snug enough to fit down the bore then a choke will stop it, for which I then tear off a bit of the paper to make it smaller then stick it through the choke. I've never used the nylon ones, though I doubt if they can get it through a tight choke much better.
GingerCat
Bedwards is right, brass all the way for me, you'll only break the nylon one at the point it screws in at some point and that can be an **** to get out of the rod, kitchen paper or old shirts won't harm the bore and neither will the brass, mine pass a full choke with no bother. Dekers
Never been a fan of the split jags, perhaps I live in the past but the look of them frightens me to death, I still use the twisted wire loop, works for me!
