Al69ec
I need some advice guys. I've been offered a lab pup which will be 9wk old this Monday. Due to a bereavement the woman has to get rid of the pip an if I don't have it she's off into kennels. Thing is I work 8 hours 5 days a week. I no leaving a pup for this length of time is not good. I have 2 others that live outside during work. Shall I let it go or take it on?
al4x
the having it if you have other dogs isn't the end of the world I would be more concerned it had its papers and you could check the parents had been hip tested etc
kent
many do this. For Free I should take it on regardless of hip scores, its alive now- what you gonna do kill it coz its dad had bad hips?
al4x
you wouldn't set out to buy one with bad hips though and a lab with hip issues can be retired at 5 and cost you thousands over its life so far more than any saving on the initial purchase, though I guess you'd probably just shoot it. WelshLamb
If you're anywhere near South Wales I have a friend who is looking for a pet pup. Preferably free

Yep I should put it down if it was not too bad I might give it away as a pet

Greymaster
A good breeder will take the pup back.
al4x
precisely thats what makes me wonder whether there are other issues
Al69ec
There's nothing wrong with the pups and it has an impeccable pedigree. It's the leaving it alone I'm worried about.
scotslad
At 9 weeks old will it not still be gettin fed 3/4 times a day, if it was 12-15 weeks it wouldnn't be as much of a problem with the feeding. If u had someone that could nip round at lunch time chuck some food in for first couple of weeks? Is it not quite a citical time in the dogs growth. But i've had 12+ weeks old pup's left in run all day no probs,
sixhills 69
from what i have seen in the past with other dogs f they are left with adult dogs which are trained they follow the lead as long as you continue to train it carn't see and reason why and if its out side at least it wont trash your house
