HDAV
Ring your FEO and ask it is open to interpretation ......... I have heard of adults paying by card and them going straight onto under 18 certs.
hillmouse
All certificates for under 18's recently have it conditioned that the holder may not purchase shotguns or ammunition beofre attaining their 18th birthday. So no, it cannot be written directly on to the certificiate by an RFD. Unless he is giving it away.

So no, it cannot be written directly on to the certificiate by an RFD. Unless he is giving it away. The distinction is what constitutes "Purchase" you could argue anyone can purchase a shotgun but only an SGC holder may be in sole possession. The "Purchase" is a financial transaction between 2 parties. Being in "possesion" is different o purchasing I am sure i can walk into an RFD give them £1000 for a gun for sale for £1000 and ask them to write it onto anothers cert (perhaps mine is still in the post or away for renewal or i dont have one), if the other person is under 18 is a law broken? Otherwise you just need a random SGC holder who wants to help you out and push paperwork..... Hence speak to FEO....
Scully
A certificate holder over 18,buys the gun, which is entered on their certificate. They then 'gift' it to you and enter all relevant details on your certificate. All the relevant licensing authorities need to be informed of the transaction. demonwolf444
Must be gifted, ie on the cert it must be stated that it was gifted from one individual to another. Thats whats written on mine. Any notion of money changing hands surely stops it being a "gift"
