robbiep
Anyone know if any companies make 2.5 inch subsonic .410 cartridges ?
ChrisAsh
Eley do a 3" subsonic at Justcartridges.com
sterling
I'd put money on Eley fourlongs being subsonic - they're by far the quietest cartridge through a moderator and they're cork/fibre wad too if that's what you have in mind for them. The 3" subsonic Eley extralongs are much louder but do throw 18gram of lead instead of the fourlong's 12.5gram. Also try lyalvale express 2.5" - they're not advertised as subsonic but they are very quiet and I've never heard a supersonic crack from them. colin lad
if they are going in a hushpower most 21/2" are quiet i have found hull 11g 6s and lyavale 14g 7s both quieter than 3" subsonic rounds colin
Floating Chamber
At a pinch, I would say most .410 (apart from the high priced Winchester and Fiocchi) are subsonic. When I was a lad, (1962), a .410 was deemed to be 975 fps.
