Mangled99
Is it lightweight plastic as it looks like a soundbiter but I'm not sure they were proof marked. http://www.soundbiter.com/
Gregthegreat
Thanks but It's aluminium. It's smaller than a Sak and has a knurled end to strip it down. Tried it yesterday for the first time and it seems to work ok.

Dekers
its a wildcat cub mod by the looks of it http://www.shopatukc...x&cPath=264_265 James I don't know what it is but I'm not convinced about the cub, I had one on test for a couple of weeks about 2-3 years ago and for some reason I thought it was all plastic, even the tube, may be wrong, I'm getting old! Gregthegreat
Just had it off the rifle again and it looks like it is a very dense plastic and it fits the size/description of a Wildcat Cub. Thanks gents, I was in doubt of its performance but my mind is at ease!

Thanks gents, I was in doubt of its performance but my mind is at ease! :good: Ok, sounds like it may well be the Cub then, it will be fine on a HMR, it is cheap and small(ish) and light. There is not that much between any of them but "personally" I have to suggest this is the worst sound reduction mod I have ever used on a HMR! Just the same, I'd probably stick with it until the day came and then invest in a SAK. I have tried virtually every rimfire and many Air rifle mods on .22lr. HMR and WMR and the difference in sound reduction is pretty marginal to my ears, and those stood around me, SAK works for me as a package on ALL my rimfires, don't get conned into spending £125 or more on a rimfire mod, they saw you coming!! Thanks Dekers. The few shots I've had with it at live quarry resulted in the rabbits around the target animal not being particularly spooked. I was able to have two or three shots before they bolted.
