Hi all,

Took out 2 PW members ( OSCARDAD and St33t) last night on our permission, I knew that the light would have been good for foxing in the snow, we arrived at the farm and splitted in 2 teams, 1 team at the ponds and the other near the paddocks.

Withing 30 minutes we called a fox in....I waited and waited....at 20-25 ..fox saw me...YES I missed twice...grrrrrrrrrrr, me and Oscardad walk to the spot to see if I wounded it...but clearly missed it on the left....we could see the tracing on the snow of 50g of N01 lead pellets, at this point I can feel the grin of Oscardad in the twilight...lol, as we turned to go back.....Something caught our eye...I can't belive it....theres a bigger fox at 20 yards just standing there looking at us...............2 Shots from my gun......now I'm suffereing...missed again...excitement got the better of me.

Oscardad stop laughing.....

I have a fox to get in the snow in the garden - I have checked it calls each night - took a chicken first, then a pigeon as bait last night - after I had gone to bed at 2.00pm.

Its a very early get up for me on thursday and curtains for the fox - shot another bait pigeon off the bird table today.

Should I use the .22 or the 12 - less than 30 yds that early in the morning and neighbours a 100yds away?

I shall zero the .22 first and try that.

I really think that we need a more expert opinion from the rifle passionate about the 22...I only shoot wildboar with a 30.06 in the mountains with very safe back stops, if its between 20-25 yards, I would buy a box of buck shot, to use with shotgun, that will kill the fox with no suffering

LOL....it would be very boring if everyone posted a kill per shot taken....and.....I have missed again tonight....this was my fifth night in the snow -1 that I waited for the pesky fox.....I'm not giving up....its personal now....LOL

Again!!!???? At least the fox is stupid enough to keep coming back!

Why don't you just take a collar and lead and adopt the thing as you are spending so much time together?

I was out the other night and we spotted losts of runs but didn't spot a thing. Don't have a fancy fox call we use polystyrene on a phone to squeak, slightly primitive but we managed to call in an owle so think it thought my pals hat was a big fluffy bunny. That was my first experience out and really enjoyed it despite not spoting a fox
