Mr pigeon
Hi guys after some really great feed back from this forum I have another question. I have been given a miroku of some sort and the chokes are + on top barrel and + - on the bottom barrel. What do these equate to? And which if not to obvious do I fire first? Thanks a lot in advance. Salopian
Probably 3/4 & F. Fire bottom barrel first. But remember a previous owner may have had them opened out, so measure with a bore gauge to determine choke constriction / bore difference . Alycidon
Picked this up elsewhere: + full choke ++- improved modified +- modified ++ improved cylinder SS skeet CYL cylinder So if thats right you have full in the top and modified ( 1/2) in the bottom. Going away targets fire the bottom one first, incoming the top one. If a fast reload is desirable then top first irrespective. An old Miroku if its had a bit of wear should open and eject easily with the flick of the wrist one handed. Practise loading with your left hand if right handed, its faster, flick with the right, drop a new cartridge in and close gun, done before the bird hits the ground. matone
Good advice about loading with left hand ! Amazes me how many people load with their right, look so messy and slow! Defies logic really.
