demonwolf444
Just want to thank everyone for their continued support in publicising the petition against the scottish government, it is more important than ever for people to respond to the scottish governments consultation, letting people know that its simply unacceptable. Reality check is that the issues facing shooting are not going anywhere, and you can either sit behind your computer thinking those who are actively defending shooting sports are wasting their time, or you can join us and help us defend the sports we all get so much enjoyment from. I may be wasting my time and in 10 years, 30 years, 50 years time i may be stood in the police office next to all the people ive enjoyed shooting with handing my gun in. If thats the case, so be it, but at least everyone here can look their friends in the eye and say with a clear concious that every day i tryed to stop this from happening. Fair warning to those who go shooting today and do nothing to defend it tomorrow, dont be surprised when the day comes when you cannot go shooting any more. http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/scottish-government-to-drop-all-proposals-to-licence-air-weapons-in-scotland http://www.basc.org.uk/en/media/key_issues.cfm/cid/5D1AF869-D20A-446E-9564AECD44780137 BASC is trying to make it as easy as possible for people to respond to this government consultation and have constucted a page on easy things you can do to show your view. I know all these petitions are a bit much sometimes and we all question whats worth it sometimes, but for the five minutes it takes, its not worth doing nothing. Steppenwolf
I signed that ages ago and wrote a letter to Kenny Mcaskill asking him to reconsider the ineffectual act of licencing low powered airguns.
demonwolf444
Thanks live fast. Sorry guys if this is all getting a bit repetative and annoying.
Steppenwolf
Never repetittive and boring standing up for gun rights, what I strongly beleive in at least for me anyway. Before anyone wants to give up and say: what can another stupid petition do? The antis sign hundreds of "stupid petittions" every day and we should not be complacent about our enemy. Reece
Here's the BASC page on the issue. Please take your time to respond to the consultation. Remember that these proposals include a ban on plinking. http://www.basc.org.uk/en/media/key_issues.cfm/cid/5D1AF869-D20A-446E-9564AECD44780137

gazzthompson
Signed. Have no interest in airguns but we all have to help each other out!
Steppenwolf
In the British Isles, airgunning is the grassroots of the gun movement, if they mandate licencing, it will put peopel off joining a shooting sport, then it would overnight make criminals tens of thousands of law abiding Scottish people. demonwolf444
Thanks Gazz. Spent many hours as a young lad shooting bottle caps. Something that would be illegal under the liciencing system.
