team tractor
I used to spend all weekend calling in at farms but once you have permission its so easy to get neighbouring farms . I have 6 farms in one village
Sean100uk
Nice one there are loads of farms around my permission so with any luck could get some more by sounds of things
TIGHTCHOKE
You're quite correct about adding extra farms, I was on the southern edge of one shoot on Boxing day, shot a very high pigeon that came spittalling down like a sycamore seed. 2 minutes later the farmer was walking his field that bordered the shoot, he'd seen the shot and was very happy for me to shoot his 2 farms. Brings me up to about 3500 acres.
Sean100uk
Very nice mate got about 900 acres in total now would not bother me if it stayed that way lol but never say never
Alanl50
I know where your coming from 1 farm I now have 4 farms, 3 of them Im the sole shooter and 1 of them I share with the farmers friend but Ill be honest I could have more but I would be hard pressed to be effective on the 4 farms I now shoot and start shooting others as well, I did help out on some rape on 1 other farm before christmas as it was getting hammered but when I read the amount of land some of you guys have got I astounded you manage to be effective and keep the farms happy. Im guessing if I failed to turn up on any of the farms for any period of time they would think I was not interested! As it happens they have all become good friends. I visit all 4 farms every week, day and at night on my quad lamping across all 4 (Out last night with my Hmr) How you manage to keep all your land owners/tenants happy?? TIGHTCHOKE
How you manage to keep all your land owners/tenants happy?? Go out whenever I/we can. NEVER leave a mess behind. Keep in touch with the farmers. Easy really!
Alanl50
Go out whenever I/we can. NEVER leave a mess behind. Keep in touch with the farmers. Easy really! Well Im always in touch with the farmer weekly basis, daily if need be, spent 1,1/2 hours tea drinking today with one farmer and his wife and eating there biccies after a walk round. (essential to a shooting relationship) I can not abide messy shooters, always clear up hate leaving empty cases around although all 4 say dont worry! I still fail to see how you can be effective on such large amounts of land, with the 4 farms I shoot it added together there is a lot of land, Im lucky with the crops and which one grows what, one does beef cattle but he still has cereals. Id have to give up work with over 2000 acres to shoot lol, dont think the wife would let me some how. Im guessing that if one of the farmers who grows alot of rape thought I was protecting anothers farmers rape and leaving his Id lose the rights to shoot. On all 4 I come and go as I please, no phone calls or texts required and they trust me. they build me hides. On one farm this year he was given a load of good fencing panels so he cut them up and put them up round his land as hides for me in the right spots even a nice 4 sided one with a bale in the middle to hide behind. Well if you can manage good luck to you Regards Alan
