Hi guys HELP Please

I drive a disco 300 tdi and never had a big problem with it.

But I'm thinking of a upgrade Eg 110 td5 or ??? Help ???

I've got mates with disco 3 tdv6 but I'm never going to take one of them down tree lines or

over the pheasant shoot. ( mud mud mud )

Can anyone tell me about a 110 td5

have a test drive in one first,

it makes the Disco seem like a limo, there is no leg room or elbow room,

ok if you are 5ft and 8 stone.

edit someone will be along telling me they are 7foot and 20 stone,

just try one.

300 tdi people will say stick with it as its the last of real tinkering with engines and early td5 have lots ecu faults, had expericence with early disco 3 and gearbox seems to be issue and air suspension.

saying that doesn't matter what you drive you will get brilliant and bad examples of both

defenders do have cramped feel and i get defender elbow but they are a lot stronger than a disco imo

stick with or go for a twisted 110 utility :yahoo:

miss my 300tdi but it rotted and split the main chassis rails with some bad off-roading

A defender with what ever engine will feel like a downgrade from a discovery, to be honest comfort wise a defender will feel like a downgrade Lada Niva  Assuming you dont need the defender for off road use i would either stick with a newer discovery or look at a pick up truck, for the money defenders go for you can get a really nice ford ranger, l200 possibly hilux. I havent driven a defender much and only driven with a trailer once and must admit I thought it felt horrible plenty of power but back end seemed a bit unsettled because the towbar is so far back over the wheels.

Oops stupid phones :) :) :) ...I meant land rover 90 sorry....forgot to add I had a v8 disco with gas 2000 v nice motor same as td5 lot more umpfff though , worked out at 33/35 mpg running on gas prices , only problem you needed a fishing Brolley inside when it rained, tried everything resealed windows, roof bars, sunroof , still leaked, I would probably kept it longer if my hair didn't get wet when I got in it....
