Actionpigeons
Today I had some regular clients over. These two lads have been coming over twice a year for the past three years and today was the sixth visit. I also have a young Lad staying with me from Wales, who I have known since I was Huntsman over there. He has come over for a few sporting days, Hawks today, hunting with Teckels Tue, and pigeon shooting Wed before he goes home.... God I have a hard life...lol Its getting difficult to find rabbits in good numbers due to the floods, however luck was on our side. We had a cpl of flights with the rabbits beating the Hawks to cover, then they manage to take one as it broke from cover in front of the dog. Towards the end of the morning we popped the ferret in to a goodish warren. The closest stand of trees was good 60 yards away, I prefer flying the hawks from trees when ferreting so that were we threw the hawks. The rabbit made the mistake of running towards the hawks and the old hawk hit it head on. Job done fed up and home we went. 11,02,13. Actionpigeons
if only i had the time for a bird always wanted one I would say you need to hunt Harris hawks at least three times a week, every other day is best if you can. That way you keep them fit and to build the weight up. JDog
Will your Harris hawks take a hare? If they will, and they are able to travel, I could take you to places near me which are overrun with them.

Thanks you very much for the offer but I am booked up with clients until the end of the season (Feb28th) with the Harris hawks.to be fair I don't fly the Harris hawks that much myself as I have plenty of clients that pay to fly them. They will take Hares and travel very well as I box them, maybe the start of next season. Edited February 12, 2013 by Actionpigeons
