WGD
You can, but there is really not any need or any point.
lee-kinsman
Ebay. Personally I think it's better to occasionally use cold game if you want to familiarise a dog with scent. Though I stick to dummies. It doesn't take a dog long to learn the scent of a freshly shot retrieve and I certainly didn't see any advantage from using scent on the dummies. Save your money. Actionpigeons
Try putting dead game in your dummy bag, the sent will transfer onto the dummies, or just use cold game A good old buck rabbit stinks to high heaven, and if you empty his bladder on to your dummy you could find it never mind your dog...lol Edited February 13, 2013 by Actionpigeons
scotslad
Like the rest have said i don't think u really need it and will probably smell nothing like real game. Slightly off topic but i read years ago and some times do it is fire my starter/blank pistol into a dummy or cold game at close range, they reckon a pricked bird will have a slight smell off gunpowder on it. I don't do it often but i usually also tie my dummy on a piece of string so i can throw it then drag it to leave a scent line. Does work but wether it is necessary, who knows? markbjones01
if you want to buy it check out the online gundog retailer 'sporting saint' however in my honest opinion as others have said it is a waste of time and can be a negative training point leading to a confused dog mark
