aga man
hello people. i recently aquired a selection of shotgun cartridges from an old farmer boy. amongst the collection were 5 of these gevelot 410 loads. having never come across them before i am curious to know anything about them. it would be handy to know wether they are worth anything from a collectable point of view. the rest of the collction were 12 bore loads by eley and hull three crowns and are all approx 30 years old. many thanks aga man. Floating Chamber
Gevelot shells were around in the 1970s, just after the Eley works explosion, when all sorts of shells were being imported.
aga man
thanks for the input fella's. the only real information i am able to find is that they are french[obviously] and gevelot stopped making ammunition way back. like you say floating chamber all the farmers etc had them in the seventys. i think to that end i will keep hold of the shells rather than fire them,as i doubt that they will be many of these kicking about. it would of been interesting to know whats inside them in terms of wad and powder but they have an unusual crimp a bit like winchester with a melted bit in the middle. thanks again. aga man.
