steve_b_wales
How much are they in the USA, Got family over there so I may look into getting some... I sent an email this afternoon, to a very good friend of mine in S.W. Virginia, to ask him if he'll find out the prices for me. He has sent items to me in the past, that even with the postage charge, were still a lot cheaper than UK prices.
steve_b_wales
I've just received an email from my friend in the USA. The link shows the NiteMaster. There is a drop down link so that it can be purchased as an IR. I've asked him to enquire as to how much it would cost in this set up. The price for the 'white light' one looks to be $98USD, which is a hell of a lot cheaper than here in 'rip off' Britain! It seems that they are shipped to the USA from China, but can't be shipped to the UK as we have a dealer here. Even by having it sent to the USA, and then on to me, it's still going to be a lot less cost. http://www.dereeligh...nightmaster.htm
al4x
thats only the basic torch and doesn't say if it includes the charger etc then you have to get it from the states, take a chance on import duty and waive the 2 year warranty. Personally getting it next day, knowing I can send it back if it breaks is worth paying a bit more

al4x
so far though in a good few months mine has proved totally reliable and accounted for 20 plus foxes at a guess so really a good toy to add to the collection

Personally getting it next day, knowing I can send it back if it breaks is worth paying a bit more In my case, I would'nt need the charger/extra batteries, as I already have one that I purchased from Ebay. As for import duty, if an item is sent to you, and is marked 'gift', then no charges are added by HM customs. The only downside I can see would be the warranty, but personally, I would be happy to take a chance.
al4x
just get the box opened and seal broken etc customs aren't that silly and can still levy duty if they feel like it. It is a sizeable saving if you have the patience and don't mind taking a gamble. Though really the only bits that can break you can buy in the uk direct from the distributor

Though really the only bits that can break you can buy in the uk direct from the distributor When I've had items sent to me, they are marked 'gift', and sometimes have 'happy birthday' written on the pakage (I had 3 birthday's last year ) Duty is only added if the value of the goods exceed a certain amount, although I'm not sure how much. steve_b_wales
It would cost me $98USD to have the NiteMaster (IR) shipped to my friend in the USA, and only a few dollars more to have it shipped to me, so there is quite a saving to be made. I'm seriously thinking of getting one.
