Tomh111
Thats plenty wide enough...whats the site like where the pen will be? -plenty of places to roost? -easy to get acces to? -any ground cover? Brambles? The ground for the birds in the pen i think the better it keeps them moving but then its more £££ for you building it
Rickyard shooter
Its a good wood with scotch pine down one side and good hedge down other with round bales along the hedge aswell. And good ground cover i was hoping to get away with 25 mtr x 10. yes has good roosting trees too.
Tomh111
Give it ago! Aslong as you can get there to feed and can set up a water system them why not theyll stay there if they have what they need theyll stay!

Paul223
go for a multiple of 50 meter as thats what the netting comes in, so 10mtr x 40mtr which would be 2 rolls of each sized netting hot dipped wire netting is much better that the cheap stuff and for the lower layer which you will dig in go for a thicker guage of wire
Alycidon
I would suggest that you go as big as you can, 175 this year could then be 250 next year if desired !!. 10m wide then I would be looking at 100m long at least. BASC and the Game Conservancy bot h have good into on this on their sites. One of my pens is 80m x 100m and I put up to 250 in there. http://www.basc.org.uk/en/how-to/gamekeeping/building-release-pens.cfm A Edited February 21, 2013 by Alycidon

I would say thats big enough for your birds no problem
scotslad
The problem i see is as the pen is so narrow a bird would only take a couple of flaps off it's wings and it would have flown from 1 side to other and posibly over wire or when birds come down of the roost be as easy to land outside the pen as in it. If u get any bother with avain predators spooking it it will be hard to hold birds, althou that is true for bigger pens but atleast they can flare up and still land inside the pen I would try to have it as big as poss, birds will be happier and less stressed and be more likely to stat in it, possibly put more popholes than u would usually

Thats far to small for the number you plan, birds will feather peck like hell and any cover will be stripped in a couple of weeks. A pen that size I would personally put a maximum of 50 poults. highseas
we had a new pen that was about 150m sq and we put 1thou in it.ld build a smalll sectional pen about 12m 12m for 150 poults so 10 by 25 will be fine but the bigger the better
