Removing shot from pheasant breast

Hi folks,

I'm new to this shooting/cooking malarky so forgive me if this is obvious. I have a few pheasant breasts in the freezer which have quite a few pellet bloodied holes in them and am concerned that a few of the pellets haven't passed through.

What method do you use for removing lead shot from the meat? I don't want to put the family off game by biting into a solid metal ball while enjoying a lovely meal...

Thanks in advance, Andy

Thanks for the replies, ye a few pellets don't bother me but I've got a big enough job convincing the family to eat game that I shoot without them breaking their teeth haha!

Chrispti, I'm interested in your method of using a magnet. What make do you use, I'd imagine it has to be pretty strong to pull out shot embedded in breast meat?

Wickes have them in stock right next to the sky hooks and tartan paint :good:
