Bleeh
It kinda works but not really. You run a very good chance of rupturing the stomach and that'll ruin the whole rabbit. Doing it with a knife should take you less than 30 seconds when quick. Disposable Latex gloves are like £2 / 50 pairs so buy a bunch and keep them in the truck if you don't want to get your hands messy.
Jim c
ah not as easy as it looks then or as brilliant either if can ruin the meat. plenty of rabbits round here
Gimlet
Don't understand these exotic paunching methods. Why make an easy job difficult? Doing it the normal way is perfectly simple and quick with no mess at all if clean shot. Once the oesophagus is broken it all comes out with a shake, you barely need to get your hands dirty. FalconFN
Yea, I've tried that with the result of broken and bruised ribs (rabbits, not mine) and you still need to split them later to get to the heart and lungs. Can't see the point when you can split and fling in seconds.
leeds chimp
used the squeeze method many times but now stick to knife and flick
Davyo
Use this method on small rabbits quite a lot,but on a big ****** its best to put a small nick at the bum hole.As other have said there's a nack to doing it.

Uncle Albert
Tried it once. Guts split and shot out all down my hunting trousers. Leg and boots covered in extraneous rabbit excretia. Now I know we should not go out hunting smelling like a turkish knocking shop with half a gallon of californian poppy doused all over us but it took me weeks to get the stink off me trousers. My gloves still stink of it and they were in my pocket. Just like projectile vomit from a new born sprog. I stick to the knife now.
