Actionpigeons
I really like using the reel wings decoy kite, as I like travelling light and shooting flight lines. The problem with it is that it needs a constant 15mph wind to stay up. If the wind drops you have to go out and put it up again, again and again . While shooting the other day on some land that the farmer has placed a hawk kite nearby, I came up with the thought that maybe the reel wings kite could be used in the same way, put on a pole. I dug out an old 5m fishing pole and added 4m of line to it along with the pigeon kite,it works a treat. If the wind drops the kite comes down to just above the ground, as soon as the wind picks up, it puts itself back up. You need to take the end off the pole and slide it over a metal spike. Added a cpl of pictures as a picture may explain it better than me. In the 1st picture the wind had dropped off, in the 2nd the wind picked up and the kite went up. It should work well in front of a sitter tree, I had three pigeons while trying it out for an hr...lol . 25,02,13.
