Darno
I have just got permission on a large field of turnips. Having walked the dog past this field everyday, I noticed large amounts of pigeons feeding on it, found and asked the farmer and he said help yourself. Any tips for shooting over this crop at this time of year?
pigeon controller
Just set up as for rape. if it's tall use cradles to lift the birds clear. Good Luck.
Actionpigeons
Just set up as for rape. if it's tall use cradles to lift the birds clear. Good Luck. as PC says if you are using dead birds If the crop is tall and you are using plastic decoys put them in bamboo canes just above the crop. JDog
I have never shot turnips nor turnip tops but last week on one of my farms I saw a huge flock lift from a field of turnips being grazed by sheep. They were keen to get back in and some just would not leave the field. Unfortunately the field is immediately adjacent to the houses of a village and there is a public footpath on the opposite side of the field so I couldn't shoot at all. The flock will still be around when they start drilling two fields away.
