decroyffe
The old disco has failed its test on excessive play around the axle king pin. This was only done two year ago and I've always thought there's something not quite right with the front end so can anyone shed any light as to what might be the bigger problem...? Gilberts1989
Do you mean the swivel pin? I've never heard of a king pin before (maybe just because mine hasn't broke yet) When you say you had it done 2 years ago, was it replaced or tightened up? Paul223
it'll most likely be the swivel pin bearings, had they been changed or shimmed up
decroyffe
Found myself on there today giberts1989, plenty of info like you've said. Paul223 I'm not sure so ill look into that. I've been looking at replacement parts and to be honest I might just go the whole hog and buy a new swivel housing unit with replacement inners. Full bag of mashings only comes in at £93 delivered. ditchman
more than likley it wasnt shimmed properly.....its a dead easy job to do....if you are going to do them you might as well get the kit to do both sides..go onto the JSF site or Rimmer Bros
jai_landrover
Decroyffe, If you remove some of the shims from the top pin just enough to remove play 90% of the time they get through the MOT However ideally it will need rebuilding as its not fixing the issue.
