Lancs Lad
thought I had great conditions for it today, but could I find any birds..................there was a small covey of partridge as I pulled up in the field and I thought heres a promising start.........got out of car,,,loaded up,,,,walked over.........got to about 60 yds and they were off....................*******... moved onto my bigger fields of winter barley and set up near some oaks, but I hardly saw any birds in the skies. The wind had a bit of a chill to it, but from 8.30 to 12.30 I only saw a handfull of birds, and they were not stopping. I managed 1 bird today from a flock of about 8 that was coming in Very Fast...................but I wont talk about that erm,,,,,,,pigeon.... I went to a drive round the rest of my permission, but didnt see anything.............. Why is it, now that I have got permssion for the field that was full of birds last march there aint any on it........ What are your birds on at the moment,,,,,,,,,,,if they are on your fields.............my farmer has planted loads and loads of barley. Bigden
Speak to Will Beasley who sold you the socks He will know where they are. He put mag-man on to a good field full with the socks http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...showtopic=24422
webber
Lancslad If birds are not feeding on the field that you wish to shoot, it is very difficult, even with supersox to get them to play it your way. Yor best bags over barley will be immediatley sfter the combine has been ove rthe field and a few days after. In a month or so the pigeon will start to hit the rape, as acorns, beachmast and many berries disapear. You stand a good chance then. webber
Markio
Went out today on my rough shoot and there wasn't much about at all. Shoot at four woodies and bought home three of them. A decent ratio but was hoping for a little more action than that!
missedagainstan
Nothing here If you can get near a wood then you might get some action but with the pheasant season under way you be lucky. Also with so much rape planted this time theres alot for them to go at

invector
What do you use to shoot a purple elephant? A purple elephant gun. What do you use to shoot a white elephant? There's no such thing as a white elephant gun, so you tie a knot in its trunk, until it goes purple THEN use a purple elephant gun......
