lakeside1000 Posted April 6, 2013 Author Report Share Posted April 6, 2013 Not too bad, the barley was drilled yesterday and today was my first chance to get out , started mid morning, placed some white bags on sticks around the field to keep them coming my way, this worked very well,they came steady for a couple of hours and by 12 I had 12, then it really slowed up, long quiet spells then two or three chances close together , then more long quiet spells, by 4 o'clock I had 19 plus 3 rooks and 3 jackdaws, it was very bright and late afternoon the sun had moved round and was in my eyes for most shots, so a good few missed but the best day for me in a while. out again Monday . lakeside1000 Posted April 12, 2013 Author Report Share Posted April 12, 2013 just got back from the same field, 3 oclock, friday afternoon, what a difference, peeing down most of the day, hardly a bird in sight and what was there would not decoy, gave up after 4 hours with just two crows, might try again on monday ifthe weather improves.
