Took my lad shooting for the first time - i only shot one but his face was a picture especially when he went and picked it up - will start looking for a gun for xmas for him me thinks

My lad

Also my second attempt at building a hide below - just a damn shame no pigeons turned up bar the one above - too windy i think it was blowing a gale :P

Nothing wrong with the hide there mate, looks good, always a good idea to cover the back / part of the top in so they can't see in if they come over the top. Not a lot about to be had at the moment, that's 100% more pigeons than I have shot this month :P

Good one getting the lad involved

why is the hide so tall :P how could you shoot over the top of it???

or is it just the way it looks in the pic???

as i always look threw the hide and shoot over the top off it it looks as if yours is is 10 feet tall

or is it a net at the back of a net  and we cant see the separation between them ?

well done on the pigeon none about here at all at the mo

cheers kirky

The hide wasna that tall lol - i am 6 foot and the hide was about 5 foot high so i could shoot over the top once i stood up and mounted the gun.

The hide was a net in front of a small tree still with a fair bit of growth on it at the base so when i looked u cudna see through it so i didn't bother with any net for the back drop.

True about pigeons though - not many around on my land anyway :P seem to see loads everywhere else ****

Hopefully once they've had a few harsh winter days it may help. I checked the crop of the one i shot and there was nothing there whatsoever.

Might nip down again tomorrow if i don't feel like working
