Lately there have been some replies quite detrimental to the T8 ......Most from shooters who have never owned ,used or seen one in action no doubt and it gets right up my nose that so called experts with no experience whatsover on this Moderator feel free to offer a opinion based on heresay .

SO!

How about some opinions from users ..........I'll start

They do rust .............When ,God knows but mine is showing no signs after 600 rds .How much shooting do you intend to do because there is no point buying one for a target range ..........As for rotting and falling apart fom the inside

Well made .

Well proven design..........2 points of contact with the barrel guarenteing alignment and with a built in expansion chamber .

Quite light weight compared to the more expensive alternatives .

More people who shoot in the field have one of the T series more than any other make . :P

Of course you only have my word that i have put over 600 rds through it of which over 200 have been my own slightly hot homeload but why should I bulls**t  .

The problem with the T4 or T8 is not really a silencer problem but a user problem. Because the heat from shooting may cause condensation that may cause rust and subsequently rot the silencer should be removed and cleaned every time after shooting not just once in a while. If the owner does that there will be very few criticisms indeed assuming it was fitted properly in the first place.

Every silencer comes with fitting instructions and a user information sheet. If the advice given is followed to the letter you will indeed be very happy with them.

With Heat you always get condense which is quite acidic and only good Quality Stainless Steel can with stand this ..........Those with Stainless Mods should check to see if the material is magnetic because if so then it'll be lesser and poor quality .

maintenance is a must anyway and The T series can be easity maintained by keeping dry and in a oily sock filled with silicon sachets .

:good::good: Use mine on my .222 & .270, and i hate shooting with my mate with his .308 with no mod

Hunter, the .222 is just like shooting a HV .22rim, and it has turned the brute(.270) into a pussy cat :D:D

My ex brother in-law got his .222 and i told him to get a mod as well, and he got a T8 and is chuffed with it too :good:

As Ive has said, as long as you look after it it will last a long time. :good:

I have used a T8 for over a year now and have no complaints.

Deadeye do not trust silica get sachets completely as they will only absorb so much moisture, after you have stored them next to your guns for a while you should gently cook them in the oven to remove all stored moisture. There are two types of gel, indicating; which is more expensive and changes colour when saturation occurs, and non-indicating; which is cheap, white, and does not change colour until your guns and mods drip rust on them.

I prefer using the rags I wipe down the guns with, they are spayed with Legia spray when I wipe the gun barrels, then hung over the tops of the barrels to prevent dust ingress. Due to this the cabinet is permeated with the oil, and this acts as an effective moisture retardant.

Somebody is selling one on the BBS for £125.

Hunter

It 'll be obvious if it's had alot of hammer and you won't have to be a rocket scientist to spot the signs either (Fister has a good example of a well used T8 :good: )...........Remember most are used for in the field so won't have had alot of rounds put down them . :good:

I recently did my DSC 1 course and one of the blokes teaching was none other than Steve Bowers of precision custom rifle fame. I asked him about care of T8's and he advocates spraying WD40 into the mod giving a good shake and then letting it drain naturally, this has two effects 1, it stops the acidic condensation attacking the metal and 2, it stops residue dropping off and rattling. Now I'm no expert but he is and I'm sticking with my T8. :good:
