ShropshireSam
I have just got a new permission on a farm with 3 fields drilled with peas. These were all drilled a few weeks ago. There are no peas to be seen on the surface but one field has the first few peas just emerging. Each field has a small flock on when I have a ride round. When are pigeons going to hit the peas hard? TaxiDriver
When the new shoots break the surface, AND seem to go mad for the flowers too

The pigeons may not hit the peas hard at all. I would say your best chance will be when all of the rape in the vicinity has grown away and there are little other options for the pigeons. kitchrat
I agree, round here peas used to be the Holy Grail, but in recent years, a big yawn. Rape is King, but there are millions of acres of the stuff so the choice for the emeny is endless..... The pigeons may not hit the peas hard at all. I would say your best chance will be when all of the rape in the vicinity has grown away and there are little other options for the pigeons.
