You know the pigeon shooting is quiet when this happens!

Decided to have a couple of hours out on the pigeons and during a quiet spell this Roe Buck decided to come perfectly into the pattern.

He seemed a bit put out by my setup and spent some time working backwards & forwards until a pigeon came in and was dually dispatched and the young buck moved on..

Before anyone jumps in, yes I know the image is poor but I went out to shoot pigeons and only had my phone on me..

I ended up with a bag of 21 too, so not all bad...

The quality of the photo is not what is important here mate! It is the fact that you were sat quietly and still enough not to have had him notice you and that you were priveledged enough to have had the pleasure of watching him for so long at such close range!

That is one of the things that I love about shooting, you never know what is going to turn up at the least expected time! :good:

True Frenchieboy, he knew I was there though as he was working the wind for sometime as it was blowing straight onto him, along with lots of quizzical looks at the deeks.

As for things turning up when you least expect them I was once set up on the pigeons in a rough hedgerow when a young rabbit burst through the hide with a stoat in hot pursuit, that certainly made me jump. The stoat then worked the rabbit further up the hedgerow and out in the field until I lost sight of it.
