mrmints
Is a shotgun going to scare all of the crows in the area away or do they just keep coming like the pigeons?
eccles
If you are decoying crows shotgun is the best. All you need is hide, dozen decoys and add all shot one's. Don't get out of hide until crows are out of sight and get dead one's out quick. I hardly ever use a caller as iv'e said in other posts. I set up decoys somewhere where crows can see them from a good distance, and always put 2 or 3 on fence poles or hedge. How far are you from Machynlleth, could show you 1 day got unlimited shooting here. Terry
mrmints
That's really kind of you. It's about 3hrs away so it's not something I could do that readily (4 month old daughter means getting permission from home isn't easy either!!), but I'll look into taking you up on that offer. Thanks very much!

superspark
If you decoy them correctly they will keep on coming. I just shot 20 this week end gone, they were pulling up the new shoots on a corn field, I mainly use 12 decoys set in a horse shoe pattern facing out away from my hide with then wind on my back. Almost all of them fly into the centre of the horse shoe "kill zone" which is out about 25 to 30 yards. I shot the same field for a week running by moving the hide around different parts of the field to keep them guessing, works very well.
